#019 jinbei uses "komochi-shima" for the top, and "tatsuno-otoshigo" for the bottom.

Komochi-shima: The combination of thick line and thin line is reason why this pattern is called "Komochi" (with the child) "shima" (geometric lines either straight or curved).

Tasuno-otoshigo: Sea horse in English. Since male raise children in a their little pouch, it's used as a charm for safe labor and good relationship for married couple. It's also used in Chinese herbal medicine, and believed to have special power.

Both textiles are made at the historic studio Todaya in Tokyo, Japan.  Since 1872, Todaya has used the traditional chusen technique for hand-dyeing tenugui.
